As stated during her interview last September 28, 2020, Mabalacat City College (MCC) President, Ms. Michelle Aguilar-Ong firmly believes that every academic institution should embrace distance learning in the new modality of education now that we are on this “New Normal”.

Under the “New Normal”, MCC offers 3 options .These options are based on the capability or incapability of the students' families to provide technological tools. Online learning for those who have the tool and connectivity at the comfort of their home. For those with gadget only, they may access e-modules at their designated digital hubs. For those without any, printed modules will be provided to them. Ong explained that submission of final requirements will be lenient this Academic Year due to the situation circumstances beyond the control of both students and MCC.

In case of lockdowns, Ong said that MCC will provide tablets containing modules to its affected students. She stressed-out that the “New Normal” is very different and challenging that it needed the support and understanding of everyone. However, she cited that the new normal has opened an opportunity for cross border learning and MCC is taking advantage of this through their international webinar series featuring speakers from Harvard and Oxford University among others.
