MCC, MCAO Runs Organic Farming Training

9 June 2023—With their commitment to promote sustainable agriculture and community development, High Value Crops Coordinator of Mabalacat City Agriculture Office (MCAO) Mr. Alex Layson, along with the Mabalacat City College (MCC) Kayantabe staff led by its Manager Ms. Carol R. Arboleda, LPT, MAEd, conducted an Organic Farming Training for the indigenous farmers of Sitio Haduan at Jade Hall Lot, Xevera Subdivision, Tabun, Mabalacat City. This training aimed to provide the farmers with knowledge and skills about organic farming practices that will enhance their agricultural productivity while preserving the environment.

In the training, Mr. Layson shared valuable insights and techniques in growing high quality crops using organic farming methods. He gave the participants a solid foundation on the principles of organic farming through his hands-on approach. 

Also contributing to the overall success of the training was Training Development Officer Ms. Marivic B. Gacho and Community Development Officer Mr. Aaron Carl V. Tejano who shared practical knowledge and skills that the farmers can apply in their agricultural practices. This is in line with the BALAKAT Project's component of sustainable agriculture through capacity-building and provision of science and technology intervention. 

Ms. Marilyn V. Gomez. LPT, MARE, MASped and the Kayantabe office clerk Mr. Mark C. Macam were also present in the event, contributing their hosting and administrative support skills respectively, for the smooth facilitation of the event. 

The new knowledge and skills gained from the training will enable the indigenous farmers of Sitio Haduan to adapt organic farming methods towards food security and a more sustainable and environment-friendly farming in their communities.

30 November 2023 — Our Lady of Grace Parish (OLGP) and Function Hall overflowed with joy as the community gathered for the "Binyagang Bayan" celebration, themed "Uniting Hearts, Blessing Souls." This special event, meticulously organized by the BSHM 4B Events Class with the guidance of Ma'am Maricar S. Besa, embraced 40 children from underprivileged families in Mabalacat City, welcoming them into the Christian faith through the sacrament of baptism. The event not only marked a religious celebration but also showcased the students’ commitment to uplifting underprivileged community members.

November 15, 2023 — Mabalacat City College Corporate College and Lifelong Learning Coordinator Ms. Mikaela Joy M. Garcia provided an insightful talk, titled "FROM STRESS TO SUCCESS: Empowering Employees through Mental Health," in the Vitabread Food Products Employee Mental Health Awareness Seminar. The seminar was designed to raise awareness on mental health issues, promote help-seeking behaviors, and encourage emotional well-being practices.
