MCC BACKGROUND

MABALACAT CITY COLLEGE BACKGROUND

As respect to history and the ground it occupies, it should be known that Mabalacat City College (MCC) is situated on the site where Dolores Elementary School once stood before being covered by the volcanic ash during the eruption of Mt Pinatubo. Established in 2008, MCC is a locally funded and operated college under the jurisdiction of the Local Government Unit of Mabalacat City. Initially starting with only 60 students and one classroom, it has since grown to accommodate nearly 5000 students, including adult learners. MCC provides a wide range of academic programs, consisting of 23 different options.

Being a local college, MCC has been accredited at level 2 and achieved a significant milestone as the only college in Philippine history to receive recognition at the Times Higher Education Awards Asia in 2021, specifically for its exceptional response during the pandemic.

MCC is strategically positioned as the closest local college to the Clark Freeport Zone, which is home to 200 businesses and locators. As a result, MCC adopts a community college approach to effectively meet the demands and cater to the needs of this vibrant and expanding estate in the country.

2008

At the Beginning

Mabalacat City College (MCC) known before as Mabalacat College was situated at Barangay Atlu Bola where Northville 16 Elementary School is currently located.

2009

The College was transferred to Xevera, Tabun, on the third floor of Doña Asuncion Lee Integrated School (DALIS).

2010

In 2010, Mabalacat City College conducted its classes within the old Municipal Hall at Poblacion, Mabalacat City.

2011

MCC had a breakthrough as it finally had its own permanent site in Rizal Street, Dolores, Mabalacat City. A year later, MCC inaugurated its extension and made use of the Fiesta Communities model houses and club house in Dapdap, Mabalacat City.

2013

MCC extension was also given its permanent home in Brgy. Dapdap, Mabalacat City. Today, construction and improvements are both ongoing in the main and extension sites.

2020

At Present

Mabalacat City College envisions modernization, with a touch of green, professionalism, and relatedness, thus, it welcomed the year with its Infrastructure Projects with a Full Blast.
