Mabalacat City College (MCC) has recognized the importance of workforce development programs in equipping the local and national workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the ever-changing job market. With the current economic landscape, the College recognizes that the local industries near Mabalacat need to be supported in order to remain competitive and attract more investors in the region.

To address this need, MCC's workforce development programs have been designed to focus more on re-skilling and up-skilling the local community. These programs aim to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to excel in their chosen careers or to adapt to new ones.

Clark Freeport Zone is a major economic hub near MCC, hence the institution foresees the demand for workers and skilled professionals needed by the industries located in the area. Aviation, information technology, and business process outsourcing (IT-BPO), tourism, electronics, and logistics & warehousing are Clark’s major industries. MCC's workforce development programs are designed to address the specific skills needed in these industries.

MCC's workforce development programs are aligned with the priority thrusts of the College, Local Government Unit (LGU), and the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) (Ambisyon 2040). The College also collaborates with the Association of Local Colleges and Universities – Region 3 (ALCU R3) to ensure that its workforce development programs are aligned with the national higher education research agenda.

Through these workforce development programs, MCC is taking a step towards building a strong local workforce and providing the local industry with the necessary manpower. By equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge, MCC is contributing to the development of a competitive and sustainable economy.
