Mabalacat City College (MCC) through its program Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) is one of the nation’s regular top performing institutions in the Licensure Exam for Customs Administration. In fact, in 2019, MCC was recognized as 4th Place top performing school in the Licensure Exam for BSCA out of 82 colleges and universities offering customs administration all over the country.
This program is a four (4) year degree program under the Institute of Business Education headed by the Institute Dean, with the assistance of its Field of Study Head, who is a licensed customs broker, fully equipped with knowledge, skills and experience in customs Administration. The BSCA course offerings are handled and taught by qualified, educationally prepared, and experienced faculty members, a number of whom are licensed brokers and are staff from the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
The BSCA program covers the functional areas of the customs broker profession, national and international customs management, and international trade and supply chain. It involves acquisition of ethical and technical knowledge, skills and competence, nurturing critical thinking and preparation of graduates towards professional leadership, organizational success and social responsibility. The program is integrated with the following major studies: customs and tariff management with fraud detection and management, international trade and trade facilitation, transportation, and supply chain management.
The primordial goal of the customs administration education is to produce ethical and socially responsible customs broker whose professional skills and competence conforms to and are compliant with international standards and best customs practices. The graduates of the program are expected to take and pass the customs broker licensure examination (CBLE) and become licensed professionals. Within three years from finishing the BSCA program and passing the licensure examination, the graduates are expected to have commenced the practice of their profession in the customs industry either by representing their clients before any government agency or by working in the government as technical professionals occupying positions from frontline to supervisory pots or joining the private sector in similar positions. In five years, MCC BSCA graduates will be highly experienced professionals in the industry, academe or the private or public sector occupying supervisory to managerial positions.
MCC BSCA program is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Since its establishment, the program has proven its quality education through its notable accomplishments such as: triumphs in inter-school competitions, graduates place the top ten ranks in the licensure exams, and constant high passing rates in licensure exams for each batch.
