BSBio Students Hold Community Service

The third-year Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSBio) program at Mabalacat City College conducted a community service at Haduan Negrito Integrated School on 13 February 2023 as a part of their final requirement in their Filipino sa Iba't Ibang Disiplina (FILDIS) course.

This community service was spearheaded by Mr. Michael Bryan Rosilla, FILDIS instructor, in collaboration with the MCC Kayantabe, headed by Ms. Carol Arboleda, Unit Manager, and Mark Christopher Macam, Kayantabe staff. Also, other MCC teaching personnel, Dr. Maureen P. Santos, Mr. Eldy Owen T. Layno, Ms. Jonnabelle De Leon, Mr. Celter Cris Torres, and Ms. Frienchie Yamauchi, participated in the program.

The BSBio students donated different instructional materials, such as a diorama of a volcanic eruption, the solar system, the forest biome, plant and animal cells, and the anatomy of the human head.

With these, Haduan Negrito Integrated School, led by Principal Fe Layson and their faculty, extend their gratitude and huge thanks to MCC, especially to the BSBio students for always supporting the school and prioritizing not just the needs of the students but also the teachers.

Leveraging educational opportunities for Indigenous Peoples (IP), Mabalacat City College participated in the first-ever IP Scholars Regional Summit at Pampanga State Agricultural University on 29 May 2024. The event themed, “Ihip, Daloy at Sinag: Pagtatagpo ng Landas, Pagtahak sa Pangarap,” was part of the 30th CHED Anniversary and the 4th Higher Education Day.

Seedlings Planted for River Restoration

Continuing the Sapang Balen River Restoration commitment sealed between MCC-IAS and the CENRO of LGU Mabalacat, the Institute of Arts and Sciences faculty and staff, once again challenged the heat index of May 8, 2024 and headed to Barangay Poblacion, to plant some calamansi seedlings along the banks of Sapang Balen, Mabalacat City. The tree planting activity is the initial stage of the many lined up activities aimed at restoring the river and its flora and fauna to eventually improve the river ecosystem.

MCC Kayantabe participates in Pampanga Bamboo Bootcamp 2023

Mabalacat City College (MCC) Kayantabe attended the Pampanga Bamboo Bootcamp 2023 at Pampanga State Agricultural University on 24 October 2023. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), this training aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills on bamboo handicraft and infrastructures. It also encouraged active participation and cooperation of all provincial bamboo industry development stakeholders.
