CHEDRO III Visits Mabalacat City College and its DigiHub Plus Sites

Dr. Maria Teresita M. Semana, Officer-in-Charge (OIC)-Director of Commission of Higher Education (CHED) Region III together with the CHEDRO III officials visited MCC to know more about the internationalization efforts and technological innovations of the college.

Mr. Raymond John D. Vergara, Vice President for External Affairs presented the internationalization program which includes the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) with Universities in the USA, Canada, and Japan, exchange student program to the University of Nottingham - Malaysia, subscription to the Harvard-MIT edX among many other initiatives. He ended his presentation by showing the calendar of activities for the coming ASEAN celebration.

Ms. Anna Rodessa C. Calma, Education Supervisor II, CHEDRO III exclaimed, "Upon entering the institution, MCC already gave us the impression that internationalization is alive because the ASEAN flags are on display.

Engr. Erick Jaie O. David, Management Information System (MIS) Head, also presented MCC ICT Network Infrastructure. He also showed the in-house server and made a briefing on the Learning Management System (LMS) of the school and even showed how mobile-friendly the new college website is.

The COIL room was also shown to the group where Mr. Basty Sebastian, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs explained the COIL Program the college has entered with Langara Community College of Canada. He elaborated on the plan he and his counterpart in Canada had prepared for the coming fall semester for their shared class.

Camachiles and Duquit MCC DigiHub Plus sites were also visited by the CHED officials. The MOA signing for extension of MCC Digihub in Barangay Camachiles between MCC and the barangay represented by the college president for the former and Brgy. Captain Edgar J. Garcia for the latter was also witnessed by CHED.

"I commend the Management. MCC is really rendering its service beyond and above what is required. We are grateful for the opportunity. We look forward in terms of its Internationalization and application of technology", Dr. Semana added.

During the visit, MCC was also awarded by CHEDRO III the Certificate of Recognition for its implementation of flexible learning.
