City Administrator Visits Mabalacat City College

September 22, 2021

City Administrator (CA) Atty. Emmanuel E. Ignacio of Mabalacat City visited Mabalacat City College (MCC) on September 21, 2021, for a possible research collaboration related to the City Government’s measures on the COVID-19 situation.

In their meeting held at the Boardroom of MCC, Atty. Ignacio discussed with MCC President Michelle Aguilar-Ong and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Melanie Viloria-Briones that the City has available data particularly on 1) Vaccination, 2) Contract Tracing, and 3) Isolation Facilities.

From these data, they can start on the consolidation of the demographics and pursue data correlations. Pres. Ong expressed her gratitude to CA Ignacio for trusting the College to spearhead the proposed research endeavor. “The research will surely help in the Covid management that is fit to the local setting,” she said.

The parties also agreed that from quantitative research, they could also continue with a qualitative one by focusing on the experiences of the front liners and other relevant stakeholders.

After the meeting, the CA toured the Campus particularly the ongoing infrastructure development.

President Ong showed CA Ignacio around and explained that the ongoing project is the retrofitting of classrooms as a dormitory for “Bubble OJT” - a one for the book's concept from the local college as a response to the pandemic’s effect on education.
