Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, the president of Mabalacat City College, together with Mr. Raymond John D. Vergara, Vice President for External Affairs and Atty. Charmaine Lansangan-Venturina, Executive Vice President, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) to promote Kapampangan Literature through writing.
The MOA sealed the “Kapampangan Writing Workshop 2021” Project between MCC and the NCCA. The Writing Workshop promoted the NCCA’s goals which include: to encourage and continue the balanced development of a pluralistic culture by the people; to conserve and promote the nation’s cultural heritage; to ensure the widest dissemination of artistic and cultural products; and to preserve and integrate traditional culture and its various creative expressions – all of which are a dynamic part of the national cultural mainstream.
MCC ensured the development of Philippine Culture and Arts properly and conveniently through the sponsorship of NCCA on the said “Kapampangan Writing Workshop 2021” Project. The schedule of the writing workshop is to be posted on all official platforms and bulletins, including all the procedures to be undertaken and what needs to be produced in the workshop. MCC served as the main host of the said project, providing the venue and other necessities.
Prominent Kapampangan writers and luminaries were invited by MCC to form part of the pool of lecturers and trainers who spearheaded the “Kapampangan Writing Workshop 2021” Project, amounting to One Hundred Thousand Pesos (100,000.00Php) generously aided by the NCCA through the Program on Advancing the Value of Creative Excellence: Pagkamalikhain.
MCC continues to champion the call in the preservation and promotion of Kapampangan culture, literature, and arts in different opportunities such as this project, thereby uplifting the younger Kapampangans’ skill, creativity, and love for their culture.
