Mabalacat City, Pampanga – Demonstrating its commitment to international education and cultural exchange, Mabalacat City College (MCC), in partnership with Dewey International Education Consultants, Ltd. welcomed 13 students from various colleges and universities in Taiwan. These students participated in an immersive English as a Second Language (ESL) program, coupled with enriching cultural experiences, from July 1 to July 5, 2024.

Throughout the week, the Taiwanese students attended intensive ESL classes at MCC, designed to improve their language skills and boost their confidence in using English. Complementing their academic experience were various cultural activities that showcased the rich heritage of Pampanga.

A key highlight of the program was the visit to Sitio Haduan, where the students engaged in community service. They generously donated school supplies to Aeta pupils, fostering a spirit of goodwill and cultural exchange. This visit not only allowed the students to contribute to the local community but also provided them with a deeper understanding of the diverse cultural landscape of the Philippines.

In addition to their community engagement, the students explored several notable locations in Pampanga, enriching their appreciation of Filipino traditions and history.

The program concluded with a vibrant culminating activity, where the Taiwanese students showcased their learning and cultural assimilation. They performed the traditional Filipino folk song "Bahay Kubo" and recited a Tagalog poem, demonstrating their newfound exposure to the Filipino language and culture. This performance highlighted the success of the program in fostering cross-cultural understanding and linguistic skills.

MCC's partnership with Dewey International Education Consultants, Ltd. exemplifies its commitment to offering diverse educational experiences and promoting international collaboration. By hosting such programs, MCC continues to bridge cultures and contribute to global educational development.
