Mabalacat City College Signs an Agreement and Formation of Partnership with POPCOM and POPGAD

MCC as a higher institution aims to help in advancing the community by means of shaping the student’s pursuit of solidarity, justice, freedom, equality, and level-up literacy which cultivates high standard leadership qualities and interpersonal skills driven to preserve the Nation’s Welfare and Greater Good.

As such, the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) - Region III, which is a national government agency duly organized and existing under Philippine Laws, represented herein by its regional director, Ms. Lourdes P. Nacionales and Population Gender and Development (POPGAD) Office of Mabalacat City, a department of the City Government represented by Mr. Charlo G. Costales purposely signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, College President, undertaken at MCC Cultural Hall, June 4, 2021.

The purpose of the agreement and formation of partnership is in line with the principles of Republic Act 10354, or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Act of 2012, that provides respect for protection and fulfillment of reproductive health and rights which seeks to promote the rights and welfare of every person particularly couples, men, women, adolescents, and all other adult individuals.

Thus, according to the Memorandum, POPCOM, Mabalacat City College, and POPGAD Mabalacat City are committed to actively participate in the conceptualization, development, and conduct of AHD related capacity building activities for demand generation strategies intended for young people in the identified communities of MCC in the city of Mabalacat in the province of Pampanga. 

The session also highlighted the roles and responsibilities of each party. 

Commission on Population and Development would provide assistance and necessary resources for the conduct of the mentioned capacity building activities which include the necessary Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, collateral materials, and other logistics and supplies, upon the availability of funds as stipulated in POPCOM’s project design for the said agreement.

On the other hand, Mabalacat City College ensures its full cooperation with POPCOM and POPGAD. Likewise, POPGAD ensures to assist MCC in sustaining the program needs.
