Mabalacat City College Welcomes Metro Clark School of Arts and Trade

Metro Clark School of Arts and Trade (MCSAT), a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) licensed school was inaugurated last February 2, 2021, which coincided with the city’s 309th patronal feast celebration. It was attended by national and regional top officials of TESDA and DOST as well as LGU and MCC officials.

In her speech, Dr. Irene G. Alvaro, Chairman of MCSAT, said that the school shall provide training that responds to the immediate needs of the industry hence providing employable skills. She further said that they want to be a part of the solution in the economic crisis that the community is currently facing as an impact of the worldwide pandemic.

MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong disclosed that they are working on a partnership with MCSAT that shall benefit MCC student applicants. She also added that they are studying the option of fitting the TESDA training offered by MCSAT with MCC’s related degrees for possible ladderized programs. President Ong said, “it will be good to assure MCSAT students that they can always apply for a college degree in MCC whenever they are ready.”

MCSAT is offering Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and other training related to hotel and restaurant management and with plans to open more programs in the coming months. The school is located beside Teresita’s Restaurant.

Recognizing the vital role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) institutions in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mabalacat City College participated the first quarterly meeting of the Universities SDG Action Network (USAN)-Pampanga, on 24 February 2025 at DHVSU Hostel. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region III and six partner universities and colleges also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their commitment in this initiative.

MCC Exhibits First-Ever TISArt at National Arts Month Celebration

In celebration of the National Arts Month, Mabalacat City College hosted the first-ever TISArt, a chalk art exhibit, on 22 February 2025 in its annual art exhibit. This is in collaboration student organizations, PANTALAKAYAN and Campus Youth Ministry with this year’s theme is “Leguan: Balakat Art Exhibit,” held at Tabnuan: Mabalacat Cultural Center.
