Mabalacat City College conducted its 6th Virtual Town Hall Meeting facilitated by the Planning and Legal Office via Microsoft Teams on October 25, 2021.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Daryl Quioc, Assistant Vice President for External Affairs expressed his gratitude to the involved offices in partaking in the series of Virtual Town Hall meetings.
Subsequently, Atty. Charmaine Lansangan-Venturina, Chief of Staff/Development Management Officer IV, introduced a new Inclusivity Policy. The policy introduces a breakthrough in the school community where all members are welcomed, accepted and treated equitably that is free from discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation.
The policy ensures the safety and wellbeing of students and personnel. The institution is committed to enabling all students and personnel to have the freedom to be themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Further, Legal Officer Mr. Llwellyn Jr. Manjares discussed the Anti-Hazing Policy. The policy reiterates that the school has the responsibility to exercise reasonable supervision over the conduct of its students from the danger of participating in the activities that involve hazing.
Mr. Basty Sebastian, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs highlighted the application of the College for the issuance of Safety Seal from the Department of Interior and Local Government. The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme that affirms that an institution is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government.
Likewise, Mr. Sebastian elaborated on the separation of the Student Affairs and Support Services from the Office of the Vice President and Academic Affairs through Board of Trustees (BOT) Resolution No. 54 (2021) which has approved the creation of the Student Affairs and Support Services Division (SASS).
This move is also in line with the preparation of the institution's organization for long-term setup where there will be an expected increase of programs and services it intends to provide due to the projected increase of student population which will require more focused management and facilitation.
Lastly, MIS Personnel Mr. Richard Turla shared about the Organic Search Engine Optimization of the College website. This intends to apply organic methods and strategies to obtain high search rankings on search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo and increase the reachability, visibility of Mabalacat City College.
