MCC - Health Services Unit (HSU) Releases its COVID Vaccine Awareness Study

June 08, 2021

MCC - Health Services Unit (HSU) conducted a study on people’s awareness of Covid-19 vaccines. The study aimed to find out the willingness towards vaccination of the employees of  Mabalacat  City College.

According to the study, the top reason why an individual feels indecisive or unwilling to be inoculated is his or her fear of a possible harmful side effect from the vaccines. As a result, the research team recommended bringing awareness to the respondents of the study and to the community at large on how the vaccines work to remove doubts and correct false beliefs about Covid-19 vaccines and to encourage mass inoculation.

It was further recommended that the study be replicated in other localities, as well as the regional and national levels. MCC-HSU is now gearing up to expand the study, focused on a wider community level perception. The team also intended to publish information materials such as brochures and pamphlets in both English and Filipino so that the information can be better received by the general public. Also, a copy of this study was submitted to the City Health Department of Mabalacat City LGU to aid the agency in the planning and implementation of the city’s vaccination program.

The research team is composed of Ayn Bernadette C. Galang, Francis Oliver R. Dela Cruz, Imee I. Salvador, and Brian Paul Y. Liong. They were led by the Director of the HSU, Florient G. Non, MAN.
