MCC-IHTM Bags 1st Place Awards on Clark Tourism Month Celebration Competition

Mabalacat City College (MCC) - Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) students clinched the 1st Place in both the Tour Guiding and Tour Packaging categories during the Clark Tourism Month Celebration Competition held at SM Clark Event Center on 27 September 2023.

Winning the Tour Guiding category were Louise Vickers and Karylle Ann Manalo from BSTM-3B, while Clariza Mae Sumang, Andrea Gaela Dela Cruz from BSTM-3A, and Samantha Jane Tuazon from BSTM-3B also won the Tour Packaging category. This achievement underscored MCC's unwavering commitment to meeting industry demands and equipping its students with the practical skills necessary for their future careers.

MCC triumphed over other higher education institutions including City College of Angeles, Concepcion Holy Cross College, Jocson College, Don Honorio Ventura State University, Our Lady of Fatima University, and Systems Plus College Foundation.

The Clark Tourism Month Celebration Competition was also attended by IHTM Dean and Tour Guiding coach Ms. Jennyfer Merza, MBA, BSTM Program Head and Tour Packaging coach Ms. Giezel S. Aquino, IHTM Instructors Ms. Jae Ann Manalo, Mr. Joven Ocampo, MBA, and IHTM Assistant Ms. Lovely Joy Gozum.

There was also a photo exhibit showcasing diverse nature, history and culture of the country. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for this exhibit was conducted by prominent figures, including President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, CDC Chairman Mr. Edgardo Pamintuan, SM Mall Manager Mr. Jerwin Jalandoni, and DOT-III Director Mr. Richard Daenos.
