Attended by over 500 students from the School of Business Education (SBE), School of Computing Studies (SCS) during the morning session, and over 500 students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) during the afternoon session, the first of the students' orientation was held via MS Teams on February 22, 2022. This is in preparation for the school’s conduct of the limited face-to-face classes.

Dr. Michael Mesa, AVPAA officially opened the orientation sharing an overview of the MCC’s plan on how to navigate through the limited face-to-face classes of selected programs as per the memorandum released by the Commission on Higher Education. Following this, the Health Services Unit’s Head Nurse Florient G. Non, RN, MSN, detailed the essence of taking jabs of vaccines against COVID-19 and gave a reminder to follow the health and safety protocols.

On the other hand, offices from the Student Affairs and Support Services (SASS) laid out different accessible, expanded, integrated, and innovative student support services and programs covering the College’s Health, Guidance, Library, Character Development, Digihub Plus, and Student Affairs Services. The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) likewise shared an instructional video on how the students can be part of the limited face-to-face classes.

SBE Dean Dr. Myrna Calma and SHTM Dean Mr. Darren Molano together with Guidance Associate Mr. John Patrick L. David facilitated the fruitful discussions between the students and the administration during the QandA leg of the orientation. They have clarified that only some programs are open for a limited face-to-face class.

The event concluded through a warm message of gratitude delivered by the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Support Services (AVPSASS), Beejay A. Sebastian, MPA, and reminded the students of the separate orientation for their parents and/or guardians on February 24, 2022 (11 am).
