MCC Recognizes Silab Ning Aldo as its First and Official LGBT+ Student Organization

In consonance with the institution’s landmark policies on Inclusivity and Safe Space, the MCC Management has formalized its recognition of Silab Ning Aldo as a student organization for LGBT+, joining the roster of more than 30 official student organizations in the college.

In a simple but monumental ceremony held on 14 March 2023, the MCC President, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong presided over the conferment of recognition and oath-taking ceremony of the pioneer set of officers. The college vice presidents and the Head of the Student Leadership Development Unit were also present to witness the ceremony.

In her message, Aguilar-Ong underscored the importance of the existence of an LGBT+ Organization in the college as it envisions a community college that respects all people, believes in the principle of equality, promotes artistry, pursues excellence, and setting of high standards yet remains mindful of professionalism, responsibility, and being able to provide impactful service to the community.

Silab Ning Aldo, as a recognized student organization, will be under the supervision of the Student Life Division- Student Leadership Development Unit which manages all student organizations and promotes a well-balanced student life as they journey the academic rigors at Mabalacat City College.
