BSTM 3rd Year Students Embark on Cultural Exchange and MOU Signing in Bali, Indonesia

Providing Students with firsthand experiences of international tourism operations, MCC Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students embarked on a Cultural Exchange Program last 28 May 2025. The activity aimed to deepen their cultural understanding, and reinforce classroom-based learning through real-world exposure.

One of the major highlights of the exchange was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing between Mabalacat City College and Bali Tourism Polytechnic. This signified a shared commitment to fostering academic collaboration, faculty and student exchange programs, and joint training initiatives in the field of tourism and hospitality.

The MOU signing was graced by Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes and MCC Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) Dean Ms. Jennyfer N. Merza. They were joined by the BS in Tourism Management & BS Hospitality Management Program Head and members of the faculty who have been instrumental in planning and facilitating this international engagement.

This partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing MCC’s global presence and affirms its commitment to producing globally competent, culturally sensitive, and industry-ready tourism professionals. Students not only had the opportunity to explore Bali’s cultural heritage and tourism systems but also witnessed the importance of international linkages in strengthening academic programs.

Believing that international linkages directly impact workforce development, Mabalacat City College (MCC) President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong shared MCC’s best internationalization practices in a presentation titled, “Enhancing Workforce Development Through Internationalization,” during Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite (EAC-Cavite)’s Academic Convocation, where she served as a guest speaker on March 18, 2025, at EAC-Cavite Multipurpose Hall.
