Mabalacat City, October 2, 2023 – Mabalacat City College (MCC) hosted representatives from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), the network of Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions. The purpose of this meeting was to explore potential collaborations and partnerships.
The discussion focused on several key initiatives that included support for indigenous populations' educational aspirations, addressing climate change and sustainability through program development and in-depth studies, identification of potential areas like Railway Technology, Casino Management, Airport Management and Operations, and Health Care, as well as programs to enhance the skills of Community College Administrators. Additionally, there was a plan to establish a unified network for community colleges across the Philippines.
CICan's delegation headed by Senior Program Officer for Partnerships Development and Knowledge Management Ms. Milica Njegovan and International Partnerships, and Manager, Partnerships Development and Knowledge Management Mr. Camille Joseph Khoury were warmly welcomed by MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong.
The meeting paved the way for potential future collaborations and recognized MCC's efforts in community development. CICan representatives were particularly impressed by MCC's innovative programs aimed at community betterment.
Alongside Dr. Aguilar-Ong, key representatives of MCC included Vice President for Global Relations, Opportunities, and Workforce Development (GROW) Prof. Raymond John Vergara, Assistant Vice President for Linkages and International Affairs Mr. Kevin Aaron Peralta, and Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development Engr. Joshua Ken Policarpio.
The MCC community is optimistic about the fruitful results of this collaborative endeavor. The meeting reinforced the college's commitment to expanding its global reach to provide top-notch education and opportunities to its students and faculty.
