Learn and Laugh with Mak Mariano: Pamakli Tamu Globally

Mabalacat City, December 19, 2024 – Taking education to the next level, US-based Kapampangan educator and content creator, Mak Mariano took the Mabalacat City College’s stage and shared his experiences and engaged the students in an entertaining and fun discussion, all the while inspiring those of them who wanted to take the same path. The event themed, “Pamakli Tamu Globally,” tackles topics on teaching internationally.

The session included discussion about cultural differences in teaching abroad, curriculum and the necessary adjustment of the teacher must prepare. Mak looked back on his journey as an education student and elementary educator emphasizing that these were the things which taught him a lot of things including resilience. “If it weren’t for what I have went through here, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” he added.

Furthermore, Mak highlighted the importance of endless learning especially for future educators, noting that this will be their greatest tool in the academe. Afterwards, the session was opened for questions to which students actively participated, showcasing their eagerness and desire to learn. Questions about curriculum differences, tips on classroom management and techniques on how to be a better at communication as a teacher were answered enthusiastically by Mak. He also underscored the passion and willingness to learn of MCC students.

Subsequently, an exciting meet and greet session with Mak Mariano delighted the audience, which also opened to the supporters of Mak within the community including MCC employees. The event provided an avenue for the students to have a glimpse about being an international educator, which amplified the dedication of the college to produce globally competent graduate and future educators.

MCC Joins USAN-Pampanga

Recognizing the vital role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) institutions in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mabalacat City College participated the first quarterly meeting of the Universities SDG Action Network (USAN)-Pampanga, on 24 February 2025 at DHVSU Hostel. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region III and six partner universities and colleges also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their commitment in this initiative.

MCC Exhibits First-Ever TISArt at National Arts Month Celebration

In celebration of the National Arts Month, Mabalacat City College hosted the first-ever TISArt, a chalk art exhibit, on 22 February 2025 in its annual art exhibit. This is in collaboration student organizations, PANTALAKAYAN and Campus Youth Ministry with this year’s theme is “Leguan: Balakat Art Exhibit,” held at Tabnuan: Mabalacat Cultural Center.
