Houston, Texas - On June 10, 2022 the College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong had a sit down discussion and initial planning with the North American University (NAU) in Texas. MCC and NAU are eyeing for a possible “Transnational Education” - an academic exchange program for their students. This means that MCC will open its doors to foreign students from NAU and the latter will welcome students from MCC. Details of said program are still in the works.
Dr. Faruk Taban, NAU President pledged his commitment to the partnership and on a personal note to President Ong he said, “we will be working on our duties…”
President Ong said that if this will materialize, this will be the first of its kind for a local college and it is a project that could really impact life not only for students but also their family. This is something that can change lives, truly a vast opportunity for MCC students.
The discussion was a follow-up activity to the March 28, 2022 signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two (2) institutions establishing the framework where the aforementioned institutions can foster and develop a cooperative relationship through possible mobility of faculty and students, joint research activities and publications, and participation in seminars and academic meetings, among others.
