MCC at THE Campus Live SE Asia Forges Global Connections and Potential Partnerships

Times Higher Education (THE) Campus Live SE Asia themed "Higher Education as a Tool for Economic and Social Transformation," hosted by De La Salle University in Manila on 22-23 November 2023, provided Mabalacat City College (MCC) a platform to promote opportunities to learn, collaborate, and spearhead transformative initiatives alongside influential figures shaping global education.

MCC management team lead by College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong engaged in impactful dialogues illuminating new pathways in education. THE's Chief Global Affairs Officer Phil Baty fostered an exchange of innovative perspectives on elevating academic standards and global partnerships through an insightful discussion.

Further fortifying its network, MCC convened with the Chief Quality Officer of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Tan Kay Chuan to uphold and surpass international benchmarks and quality assurance. Also, Senior Education Specialist of the World Bank's Education Global Practice, East Asia and Pacific Region Janssen Teixeira for potential collaborations and initiatives. This underscored MCC's unwavering commitment to ensuring the delivery of world-class education.

Moreover, through interactions with MCC, Coursera Regional Account Director Nikko Almazar and APAC Business Development Consultant Zoe Chua expressed keen interest in establishing a strategic partnership with the college. This collaboration intends to enrich educational offerings and broaden access for MCC's diverse student community.

Looking toward the future, MCC explored Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) opportunities with esteemed academics like Ikeda Keiko from Kansai University in Japan, Education for Sustainability with Dr. Joyce Teo Siew Yean from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and Ir. Ahmad Syafiq from Universitas Indonesia for strengthening career development programs for students. These engagements laid the foundation for inspiring cross-border academic collaborations and knowledge exchanges, envisioning a dynamic educational landscape.

MCC's proactive involvement in this event highlights a deliberate shift towards aligning its academic programs with both local needs and global trends. The institution's steadfast dedication to cultivating international partnerships, pioneering innovative learning methodologies, enhancing its international reputation, amplifying social impact, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance reaffirmed its commitment to providing a comprehensive, globally competitive education.
