January 26, 2022

January 26, 2022 - Being the first in Pampanga and the entire Central Luzon, Mabalacat City College was awarded its Level II and Candidate status in some of its programs by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) through its President and Executive Director Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega at the MCC Cultural Hall.

A total of 8 programs: BSEd English, BSEd Filipino, BSEd Science, BSEd Mathematics, Bachelor of Elementary Education, BS Hospitality Management, BS Tourism Management, and BS Information Technology are now Level II accredited; and 3 programs: BS Biology, BS Customs Administration and BA History are now Candidate status.

Quality Assurance Director Mr. Michelangelo Cayanan delivered during the Statement of Purpose that the awarded accreditation statuses are a reflection of MCC’s commitment to continuous improvement. He also stated that the MCC community sought accreditation to “immerse the accreditors in our stories because we wanted their guiding hands as we took steps in creating our school of tomorrow.”

Dr. Arcega said "Quality is more than a document. Quality is a way of life… Today is a celebration and I know how MCC worked hard for this. This could be done virtually but I wanted to make sure that you [MCC] receive the results of the accreditation." He then presented and conferred the certificates granting all the accreditation levels applied for by the aforementioned programs.

The College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong accepted the awards and thanked the Mabalacat City Government led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Mabalacat, and all local officials of Mabalacat for the unwavering support and trust to the MCC Management, and for giving its faculty and officials the liberty to be academicians. She also extended her gratitude to the MCC students for always carrying the dream of a Filipino student and being the inspiration for all MCC's achievements and innovations. She also congratulated the entire MCC community for their hard work, commitment, and support to the mission and vision of the institution. In the end, she accepted the challenge of Dr. Arcega to be one of the very few LUCs accredited for Level 3 in the whole country and stated, "we just might be part of the Top 5. By accepting this certificate means only one thing, are U ready? And yesterday we trended with the "Are U Ready" post because I know that U are."

The event also featured some of the highlights during the actual accreditation last November 17 to 19, 2021. Here is the link to the audiovisual presentation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SizDdgqgmaLhRLZ6PVFy4rOv0GjnOzOR/view?usp=sharing
