MCC Inks Agreement with PAF for NSTP- ROTC Program

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Mabalacat City College (MCC) and the Philippine Air Force (represented by 2nd ARCEN) in the providence of instruction to one of the key components of the NSTP course - the ROTC or the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. The signing was carried out by College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, and the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Lt. Gen. Allen T. Paredes in turn represented by Lt. C. Joan P. Dalmacio, PAF (GSC) Commanding Officer, 2nd ARCEN.

Due to the current situation and in light of the flexible ways in pursuing this kind of activity, both parties had a distance signing of the said memorandum.

Pursuant to the Republic Act 9163, otherwise known as the National Service Training Program Act of 2001, the NSTP Program is a requisite to all baccalaureate programs before graduation. Further, this course has three components and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is one of them which is aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of service and patriotism whilst undergoing training to be implemented by the second party, the PAF.
