MCC-L&T Certificate in Sewing Graduates 35 Solo Parents

MCC-L&T Certificate in Sewing held its Completion Ceremony on 30 November 2023 at MCC Lifelong Learning Center, celebrating the success of 35 female solo parents who completed the 18-day training program. This initiative, in collaboration with the City Public Employment Services Office (CPESO) and the Population, Gender and Development Office (POP-GAD), aimed to equip participants with soft skills and technical expertise in sewing.

L&T Head for Organizational Development Ms. Michelleen L. Paras in her opening remarks, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the importance of addressing the growing industry demand for skilled workers. Meanwhile, City Administrator Franco L. Madlangbayan emphasized the significant demand within the sewing industry, making training programs like this essential for providing employment opportunities and contributing to economic progress.

Representatives from Mabalacat City College, L&T International Group Phils., Inc., the Local Government Unit, the City Public Employment and Services Office, and the Population, Gender, and Development Office also graced the ceremony.

Ms. Jennifer Dolandolan, the top trainee of the first batch, presented her remarkable creations during the training period. In just 18 days, she crafted various potholder styles, clothes, and tote bags using scrap materials, demonstrating the program's effectiveness.

After the completion ceremony, the graduates will take immersion and a trade test at L&T, where successful candidates will be offered employment.

This joint initiative of MCC, L&T, and the local government is a testament to the strength of the academe-industry partnership in developing skills and offering promising employment opportunities for Mabalaqueños.

MCC Exhibits First-Ever TISArt at National Arts Month Celebration

In celebration of the National Arts Month, Mabalacat City College hosted the first-ever TISArt, a chalk art exhibit, on 22 February 2025 in its annual art exhibit. This is in collaboration student organizations, PANTALAKAYAN and Campus Youth Ministry with this year’s theme is “Leguan: Balakat Art Exhibit,” held at Tabnuan: Mabalacat Cultural Center.
