February 19, 2024 – Mabalacat City College (MCC) and the Mabalacat Rotary Club signed a Memorandum of Agreement today to launch holistic 100-hour certificate programs titled "Bread and Pastry and Front Office Programs" for community empowerment at MCC Cultural Hall.
MCC President Michelle Aguilar-Ong expressed her gratitude as she acknowledged the Mabalacat Rotary Club's initiative in proposing the training program. She also highlighted the college's dedication to providing skills training not only to its students but also to community members. This emphasized MCC's commitment to assisting community members in securing employment to support their families.
Furthermore, Mabalacat Rotary Club President Julie L. Cataluna articulated that through this collaboration, they aim to extend their reach to fellow community members and impact more lives within the community.
Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) Dean Jennyfer N. Merza expressed her excitement about the faculty's role in providing training for the Bread and Pastry and Front Office programs. The IHTM faculty is eager to share their expertise with community members interested in learning new skills in these fields.

Cataluna, Project Coordinator Mr. Avelino Antonio, Past Presidents, Mr. Elmer Hernandez, Ms. Glo Nethercutt, and Ms. May Valdez, Presidential Nominees Mr. Glenn Gonzales and Mr. Frank Valdez, and Directors Ms. Daisy Dela Cruz and Ms. Mary Rose Canlas.
MCC was well-represented by College President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, Vice President for Global Relations, Opportunities, and Workforce Development Mr. Raymond John Vergara, Assistant Vice President for Workforce Development Engr. Joshua Ken Policarpio, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs Ms. Marilyn S. Arcilla, Dean of the Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Management Ms. Jennyfer N. Merza, and the IHTM faculty.
Through partnerships and collaborations, MCC and Rotary marked their joint efforts to serving the community by equipping local residents with essential skills and knowledge. This will enable them to be part of a competitive workforce within the community.
