MCC's Prof. Taguibao is PGCA's Facilitator for Advanced Counseling

MCC Guidance Counselor, Ms. Josevy A. Taguibao, RGC facilitated the advanced workshop on Counseling the Abused in the recently concluded Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) International and 57th Annual National Virtual Conference, with the theme “Adapting, Leading, and Championing Counselor’s Competence and Advocacies in the Now Normal across Settings and Culture”, May 18-20, 2022, via Zoom. 

The workshop was attended by counselors and other mental health professionals to further enhance their professional skills and competencies. In her presentation, Ms. Josevy presented, “Ano Nga Ba?” A Reality Check of Abuse Cases in the Philippines; demonstrated the essentials in counseling the abused, specifically the Trauma-Informed Care Approach and Trauma-Informed Interventions for Abuse Survivors; and emphasized the significance of a Multi-Disciplinary Team Case Management Approach, School's Protocol on Referral Mechanisms and the Counselors' Role towards Trauma-Informed Practice.
