MCC, UNA Commence Spanish Language Program

Mabalacat City, Philippines - Mabalacat City College (MCC) launched its 12-week Spanish language program on 17 May 2023 in collaboration with the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) in Argentina. The said program, headed by UNA Prof. Veronica Iacona, aims to equip the Bachelor of Arts in History students with practical Spanish language proficiency as they delve deeper in the study of history.

The 12-week Spanish language program is among the educational opportunities that MCC offers to its students. The program will delve into the literature, history, and arts of Spanish-speaking countries. It will consist of online lectures, group discussions, interactive activities, and practical exercises fostering active participation and experiential learning. 

Through the designed curriculum, students are expected to develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while also exploring the Spanish-speaking cultures providing students with an understanding of the language within its cultural context that deepens their appreciation of global cultures.

Their Spanish language skills will not only enhance students' career prospects but also prepares them for a globalized world.

Providing students, faculty, staff, and the community with insights and opportunities for studying abroad, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), widely known as the German Academic Exchange Service (GAES) conducted an information session on studying and researching in Germany on 26 April 2025. The event was part of MCC’s Reach-out and Move (ROM) Program, which aimed to invite various international academic exchange agencies to increase student and faculty mobility in the academe.
