MCC’s partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) continues to bear fruits as it expands its STARBOOKS Project in the Academic Clinic of Dapdap Campus on 5 May 2023.

MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong led the launching ceremony together with Asst. Vice President for Student Life Basty A. Sebastian and Library Services Director Roma Amor Manalang. Academic administrators, faculty members, and students also attended the unveiling.

“This project that is now available to all of our students, faculty members, and staff across MCC campuses is a testament to our commitment to academic excellence, emphasizing our ‘culture of care’ to our stakeholders as they journey the academic rigors of college life,” Aguilar-Ong underscores in her message.

STARBOOKS, an award-winning project of DOST, stands for  Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS. It is an interactive kiosk system that serves as a "digital library in a box”  hosting media including text, audio, and videos related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  It consists of a desktop installed on a specially designed "pod" structure. The system is a standalone information kiosk which does not rely on internet access.
