MCC Welcomes TSU for Smart Classroom Benchmarking 

More and more Philippine State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) are visiting Mabalacat City College for benchmarking. As the first school in the Philippines to be fitted by HUAWEI with its HyFlex Smart Classroom Technology, SUCs seek the opportunity to benchmark with MCC. 

Recently, MCC welcomed a contingent from Tarlac State University (TSU) for a benchmarking activity on MCC Smart Classrooms. The delegation from TSU comprises of: TSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, Executive Assistant of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) Professor Augusto N. Lulu, Jr., Unit Head for Facilities Development and Management Office Ms. Menchie Abellar, Mr. John Christian Ilaga from TSU’s Facilities Development and Management Office, Mr. Anthony Gerong from TSU’s Management Information Systems Office, Technical Assistant of the OVPAA Julia Yvette Miranda, and TSU’s Faculty Member from the College of Science Prof. Edgar Macaraeg. 

During the benchmarking, MIS Senior Programmer Joseph David discussed the features of the state-of-the-art facility. He placed emphasis on all the high-flex learning specifications of smart classrooms that benefit both onsite and online students. These features include digital content sharing where students can share presentations and copy their lectures through their smartphones via QR codes. He proudly shared that the rooms are equipped with cameras, microphones, monitors, interactive screens and boards, and soundproof walls. 

TSU’s Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg expressed her appreciation towards MCC for the warm welcome. She wishes to see more collaborations between the two institutions in the future.

MCC Joins USAN-Pampanga

Recognizing the vital role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) institutions in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mabalacat City College participated the first quarterly meeting of the Universities SDG Action Network (USAN)-Pampanga, on 24 February 2025 at DHVSU Hostel. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region III and six partner universities and colleges also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their commitment in this initiative.

MCC Exhibits First-Ever TISArt at National Arts Month Celebration

In celebration of the National Arts Month, Mabalacat City College hosted the first-ever TISArt, a chalk art exhibit, on 22 February 2025 in its annual art exhibit. This is in collaboration student organizations, PANTALAKAYAN and Campus Youth Ministry with this year’s theme is “Leguan: Balakat Art Exhibit,” held at Tabnuan: Mabalacat Cultural Center.
