Philippine Higher Education International Relations Workshop 2023 Empowers PH HEIs on Global Stage

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – International Affairs Staff (IAS) spearheaded "Making the Icons: 2023 Philippine Higher Education International Relations (PHE IR) Year-End Networking and Collaboration Workshop," intended to fortify the Philippine Higher Education on an international scale last 11-12 December 2023 at Sheraton Manila Hotel Pasay City.

Director of CHED-IAS Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla lauded the workshop's success in providing a platform to robust international collaborations. She emphasized the vital role of such initiatives in propelling academia and collaborations within the country.

The embassies from the Republic of Indonesia, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, and the United States of America featured their scholarships and collaborative projects available for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This offered an expansive opportunity for student and faculty development.

Additionally, insights from Beijing PHIHUA International Education Technology Co. Ltd., British Council, ADEC Education, iEquity Lenovo, Dell Technologies Philippines, Huawei Technologies Phils. Inc., Coursera for Campus, IBM Philippines, Orange Apps and International Conferences and Conventions added depth to the discussions. Meanwhile, Government agencies including Department of Labor and Employment, and Department of Trade and Industry contributed significant perspectives.

Strategic workshop sessions were crafted for HEIs to nurture innovative ideas and enable dynamic exchanges among participants to bolster Philippine academia's global standing.

Throughout the event's duration, the PHE-IR Workshop demonstrated an unwavering dedication to equip Philippine HEIs with the requisite resources, insights, and connections vital for success in an increasingly interconnected world. Its steadfast focus on fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and cultivating strategic partnerships served as a guide. This steers the trajectory of higher education in the Philippines toward global arena.
