Transform & Empower: MCC 12th Commencement Exercises

Mabalacat City College celebrated batch 22-23 as the 12th Commencement Exercises with the theme "Transforming lives, Empowering Communities" was held on 05 October 2023 at SMX Convention Center, Clark Pampanga. This year’s graduation coincided with the celebration of World Teacher’s Day making it more symbolic and significant.

MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong formally opened the ceremony as she welcomed the graduates, where she noted, “In order to develop impactful programs and ensure successful college completion and employment prospects, we realized the importance of gaining a deeper understanding of these students.” Dr. Aguilar-Ong emphasized that as a community college, MCC must provide services that will impact both the students and entire community.

Despite being unable to attend, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III extended his greetings and felicitation through an AVP message. He encouraged the graduates to move and serve their communities and the nation. Mabalacat City Vice Mayor Hon. Atty. Gerald Aquino also graced the afternoon batch of the graduation, while Board Member Hon. Cherry Manalo attended the morning batch of the ceremony.

As Keynote Speaker for the 1st batch of graduates, Clark Development Corporation President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera highlighted that the story and hard work of each student will be their keys to success. She also commended the drive and passion of the graduates that allowed them to be ready to face the world after graduation. “You deserve this achievement because you have been working very hard,” she emphasized.

Meanwhile, the 2nd batch of graduates’ keynote speaker, Lone District of Baguio City Representative, House Committee on Higher & Technical Education Chairman Rep. Marquez “Mark” O. Go inspired and persuaded the graduates to aim for legacy and contribute to the community as a whole. He underscored, “The fact that you stand here holding your well-deserved diploma is a testament to your resilience and unwavering determination.”

The proclamation of graduates came after, which was done by Dr. Aguilar-Ong. Followed by the distribution of awards & diplomas, Valedictory Address by Ian Jonald Perez, Magna Cum Laude from the ITE, pledge of Loyalty to Alma Mater, and Oath of Affiliation to MCC Alumni Association.
