GradWay: A Capstone Management System for Computing Studies of Mabalacat City College (MCC)

Abstract
This study presents GradWay, a web-based Capstone Management System developed for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program at Mabalacat City College, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 9, and 16. The system digitalizes and streamlines capstone processes such as defense scheduling, adviser and panel assignment, consultation tracking, document submission, progress monitoring, and rubric-based grade computation to enhance efficiency, transparency, and coordination among students, advisers, and teachers. It was developed using the Modified Waterfall Model of the SDLC with technologies such as React.js, React Router, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, and Firebase to ensure a responsive, role-based platform. System evaluation involved alpha testing by three IT experts and beta testing with BSIT students based on ISO 25010 quality standards, yielding an overall mean of 4.81 for alpha testing and 4 for beta testing, both interpreted as “Excellent,” confirming the system’s reliability, usability, and effectiveness in supporting the end-to-end capstone process and demonstrating its potential to modernize capstone management through improved communication, automated academic tasks, and structured workflows.
