Abstract
The Green-Grain Hub is a microcontroller-based waste-to-rice dispenser that promotes sustainable waste management by rewarding users with rice in exchange for properly disposed plastic bottles and tin cans. The project was developed utilizing the Modified Waterfall Model of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and it progressed in an organized manner from planning to evaluation. The ISO 25010 standards were used to evaluate system quality, considering functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, interaction capability, reliability, security, flexibility, and safety. The alpha testing resulted in a mean score of 4.27, while the beta testing achieved 4.58, both falling under the “Excellent” descriptive rating. Furthermore, a repeated trial test proved the machine consistently dispensed approximately 100 grams of rice every transaction, assuring reliability and accuracy. The system was created to align with and assist the achievement of certain Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting its importance and potential influence on community-centered environmental and food sustainability projects.
