Abstract
Construction sites require timely hazard awareness and dependable incident response. This study developed IproTech, an IoT-based smart hardhat and web monitoring dashboard that integrates RFID time-in/out, SOS and summon signaling, fall/impact detection, heat monitoring, and GPS tracking to enhance worker safety and site oversight. The project followed a modified Waterfall Model of the SDLC, ensuring a systematic approach to requirements, design, implementation, and evaluation. Design artifacts (system architecture, block diagram, ERD, flowcharts, and Storyboard) guided the end-to-end integration of ESP32-based sensing with a Firebase-backed Next.js dashboard. The system was evaluated through alpha testing with four (4) IT experts and beta testing with thirty (30) site participants (laborers and engineers) from Polarr Azanje, Angeles City. Both phases used ISO/IEC 25010–aligned criteria emphasizing Functional Suitability, Performance Efficiency, Compatibility, and Reliability. Results indicate high performance and user acceptance: the alpha test achieved an overall mean of 4.92 (Excellent), while the combined beta cohort achieved an overall mean of 4.80 (Excellent). Qualitative feedback highlighted rapid alert propagation, clear dashboard visibility, and stable device–cloud behavior; recommended refinements included increased battery headroom, refined fall-threshold tuning, enhanced heat-status indicators, expanded logs, and lighter helmet materials. In conclusion, IproTech demonstrates a robust, user-centered, and field-ready safety solution that aligns with construction workflows, providing reliable real-time monitoring and actionable visibility for supervisors and teams.
