Abstract

MediCall: An IoT-Based Enhancing Emergency Response System was developed to address delays in medical response, communication gaps, and heat-related health risks at Mabalacat City College (MCC) Dapdap Campus. The system integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology with real-time two-way communication, a tiered alert mechanism, environmental monitoring, and automated heat-mitigation features such as exhaust ventilation and retractable roofing. The study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate a prototype system capable of improving emergency reporting, response coordination, and environmental safety within the campus. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using a modified waterfall model guided the system development. Alpha and beta testing were conducted, and system performance was evaluated using ISO 25010 quality standards. Results showed high levels of functionality, usability, interaction capability, security, and flexibility. MediCall significantly reduced response delays, improved emergency location accuracy, and minimized heat exposure risks, contributing to a safer and more responsive campus environment while supporting Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education, innovation, and resilient infrastructure.
