Abstract

As stated by the research “Top 10 Importance of Technology in Our Life”, Technology is an essential part of our daily lives. Most of the time, communication with each other is made thru gestures and signals like horning which may lead to miscommunication and may cause an accident or a fight since neither all people know the meaning of the gesture or signals. The general objective of the study is entitled CARTICON: A Microcontroller-Based Car Emoticon Display and Traffic Warnings Messages with User Interface Application. The researchers used the prototyping model as a guide to complete Carticon and its mobile interface application. It also had beta testers who are professional drivers. The device's components were the P10 LED display, Arduino Uno, Bluetooth receiver, and battery. It could display emoticons, traffic signs, traffic warning messages, and short messages. The developed user interface has a Bluetooth connection, fixed emoticons, fixed traffic signs, fixed traffic warning messages, and fixed short messages. The mobile application also features customized messages, and authorized drivers can use it in two ways: through manual typing and voice commands. The researchers released the software to a small group of external thirty beta users for testing after the mobile application and prototype passed the developers' test. The application was evaluated using the ISO 25010 Software Quality Standard criteria. The researchers believed that the overall percentage mean score of 86.84% of beta test ended to the conclusion that the CARTICON prototype and mobile application has interpreted as “Excellent” and achieved the set criteria for the evaluation.
