E-PARK: An IoT and Web Based Premium Parking Reservation System

Abstract

This study developed an Internet of Things and web-based premium parking reservation system, E-PARK. Reservation is made online with the use of the web application designed to make reservation quicker and easier. Users are required to create an account to access the web app’s reservation feature. A QR Code that will be displayed in the user page will serve as the gate pass for the IoT barrier. The IoT barrier gate used Node MCU as the microcontroller, servo motor to serve as the barrier and a QR code scanner to scan the QR code pass. The system underwent alpha and beta testing to assure that it meets the objectives and the system requirements using the ISO-25010 standards, considering the following criteria on functional suitability, usability, reliability, and security. The researchers used evolutionary prototyping as a guide to complete the E-PARK prototype and its web application.
