Abstract

Along with the emerging development of mobile technology, several mobile applications have been developed as reference tools. Dictionaries on mobile devices are more efficient than traditional ones because they allow users to receive information easily and save time. Due to language attrition and the indomitable confusion with the construction and usability of Kapampangan words of non-Kapampangan and Kapampangan speakers, the researchers took advantage of the situation and created a Kapampangan Dictionary app for Kapampangan and non-Kapampangan speakers to broaden their knowledge of the Kapampangan language with Father Venancio Samson's Kapampangan Dictionary, a comprehensive collection of Kapampangan words with English definitions. The HAU Center for Kapampangan Studies published the book in 2010. The Agile Method Approach enabled the development of this study to meet the study's objectives. The Kapampangan Dictionary app was pre-launched in the Google Play Store to address and identify technical issues, and it was tested by the researchers, capstone adviser, and some of the focal persons involved in this study. To validate the functionalities, test cases were used to validate the application's specific functionalities based on the research objectives. Furthermore, the researchers have proved that the application can assist someone who uses the app intentionally by using statistics included in the study from the Google Play Store. With that, all of the recommendations and objectives have been met and this resulted in a working Kapampangan Dictionary application.
