Abstract
This research presents the development of an IoT based Smart Door Lock and Home Lighting Monitoring System. DOLAYT is a system prototype that uses smartphone and internet for opening and closing the door, switching on/off and as well as adjusting the dimmer and setting time/schedule for the lights. It focuses primarily on the importance of ensuring security and preventing breaches at home. This system allows users to easily control and monitor their home environment all at once even with a manual switch and dimmer. It also allows users to keep an eye on the situation at far distances from inside the house through the internet using the mobile application. A detailed process is made on the development, building and testing of the prototype. The final phase of this research is to fully develop and deliver a functional DOLAYT prototype along with its mobile application and a secure flow of the system.
