Abstract
The researchers developed "WeStack: a web-based ordering with an inventory management system with sales forecasting using moving average and exponential smoothing algorithm for Everlife General Marketing (Everlife)." This system has the following features: online ordering and inventory management with sales forecasting; production management; supplier management; notifications for order status and inventory monitoring; automatic product discounting; automatic saving and printing of delivery receipts; generating inventory, sales, and purchase reports. These features have helped Everlife improve the efficiency of its ordering and inventory management. The researchers used the Modified Waterfall Model (MWF) in this study. The MWF model has five (5) phases which provided an organized sequence of development processes with flexible iterative stages. The researchers were able to develop the working system of the study – for example was the main functionality’s ordering system, inventory management, and sales forecasting through testing. The researchers conducted test cases using ISO25010 to ensure that each criterion satisfactorily met the standards, and they functioned as designed. The alpha test resulted to few defects and after reconfiguration, reprogramming, coding, and testing, the beta test showed that those functionalities have already worked how they were supposed to. As a result, the researchers were able to upload the definitive version of the system along with its database on the hosting site. It thus allowed the users to access the system through the internet using the web system's domain name. To improve the developed WeStack, the researchers recommend having a Decision Support System (DSS) feature like Top Salesman, System Suggest, No. of Supply, and Top Seller.
