MCC Celebrates Arts Month Through "Pamiaduangan" Visual Art Exhibit

In celebration of the National Commission for Culture and Arts’ (NCCA) National Arts Month, the city of Mabalacat under the leadership of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, the Mabalacat City Tourism Office (MCTO), Mabalacat City College (MCC), and the Sibul ning Kalalangan spearheaded the opening ceremony of “Pamiaduangan”: a visual art exhibit, today at Mabalacat Elementary School (Gabaldon).

The exhibit was graced by City Councilor and Chair on Tourism, Arts and Culture Hon. Krizzanel C. Garbo, MCC Resident Artist Mr. Dodjie Aguinaldo and City Mayor Hon. Crisostomo C. Garbo. Consequently, Kapampangan Author Mr. Alvin P. Ignacio delivered his "poesia" that pays tribute to Kapampangan ingenuity by promoting visual masterpieces created by renowned artisans in the city through this exhibit. It was also attended by the University of Mabalacat City President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, Vice President for Finance and Administration Ms. Happy Pelayo, Vice President for External Affairs Mr. Raymond John D. Vergara, and Building and Maintenance Head Mr. Democrito Dolandolan.

One notable artwork in the exhibition presents a brilliantly colored façade of MCC’s center building and below is a gargantuan crimson letter “U”. The artwork is entitled “Becoming U” (acrylic on paper) and is the obra of John Ganiel M. Tique, a 4th Year MCC BSEd-Science Major. 

“Pamiaduangan” opens today, February 14, and is set to run until the 28th at Mabalacat Elementary School (Gabaldon). The exhibit is open to the public and there are no entrance fees. Mr. Tique’s artwork, alongside the different artworks of 33 other visual artists, is on display. MCC is inviting everyone to visit and experience the exhibit.

The event brought together over 100 first-year students, equipping them with skills in life-saving and fostering commitment to social responsibility.
