MCC Holds 4th Annual Career Expo, Strengthening School-to-Work Transition

June 25, 2025

Mabalacat City College reaffirmed its commitment to preparing future professionals as it successfully hosted the 4th Annual MCC Career Expo on June 19, 2025, at the MCC Gymnasium. The event served as a dynamic platform for graduating students to connect with nearly 50 participating companies from various industries, including business process outsourcing, hospitality, finance, logistics, and more.

A total of 398 graduating students attended the expo, engaging in job interviews, career consultations, and networking sessions aimed at helping them transition smoothly from college to the workforce.

Prior to the main event, a short industry meeting was held at the MCC Cultural Hall, led by Mr. Raymond John D. Vergara, Vice President for Global Relations, Opportunities, and Workforce Development of Mabalacat City College. During the session, representatives from participating companies were welcomed and given a brief overview of the college’s ongoing efforts to align education with employment. The meeting also served as a platform to highlight MCC’s initiatives in preparing students for the demands of the workforce and fostering sustainable industry-academe partnerships.

In support of employment readiness, several government entities were also present, including the Social Security System (SSS), PAG-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth. Their participation underscored the importance of securing mandatory government memberships and benefits, which are essential requirements for formal employment in the Philippines.

A notable feature of the event was the Hired on the Spot (H.O.T.S.) initiative, which led to 31 applicants receiving job offers during the one-day expo. Meanwhile, 188 graduating students who are already employed or managing their own registered businesses were acknowledged and exempted from the job-matching process.

Organized by the Workforce Development Unit of Mabalacat City College, the Career Expo has become a signature event of the institution, aimed at strengthening school-to-work transitions by providing direct access to employers and support institutions.

The MCC Career Expo 2025 was made possible through the support of generous sponsors: JCI Mabalacat Malasa, Gardenia, LBS Bakeshop, GLY Travel and Tours, K-Servico, Sun Life, Teleperformance, and SeeMeSOL — all of whom contributed to creating an engaging and resource-rich environment for student jobseekers.

Now in its fourth year, the MCC Career Expo continues to evolve as a launchpad for career readiness and professional growth. As Mabalacat City College remains steadfast in its mission of empowering students for life beyond graduation, the annual career expo stands as a clear testament to the value of collaboration between the academe, industry, and government.
