MCC Hosts 1st Virtual Stakeholders’ Summit, “Academe Retrofit: Envisioning the Industry Landscape for the Future Workforce”

Mabalacat City College - Career and Placement Office hosted the 1st Virtual Stakeholders’ Summit, “Academe Retrofit: Envisioning the Industry Landscape for the Future Workforce” on Zoom held last October 22, 2021.

During the morning session, the Assistant Vice President for External Affairs of Clark Development Corporation Mr. Rommel C. Narciso discussed the careers in Clark now and in the next five years while Ms. Lourdes Rivera, Senior Labor and Employment Officer, Department of Labor and Employment elaborated on different hard-to-fill jobs and in-demand jobs.

Subsequently, the Regional Director of National Economic and Development Authority-Region III Ms. Gina T. Gacusan discussed about Human Development Capital plan as well as the Ambisyon 2040 and Philippine Development Plan and Mr. Kim Chua explained how ResumeLink and Job Portal works in the industry. 

Programs were divided into break-out sessions that were joined by the stakeholders (students and industry partners). In the meeting, the Deans and Field of Study Head presented each program’s curriculum and best practices.

The institutes also consulted the industry partners to further develop the curriculum, allowing it to fit the needs of their respective fields and of the industry. This would also help the students be job-ready even before graduation.

The Industry-partners were also recognized for their support to MCC throughout the years in helping shape students to be ready for employment through on-the-job training.

The summit was also attended by Worldwide Internships Philippines, Department of Tourism Regional Office, Global Access Travel and Tours, Mary Help of Christian School, Divine Grace Academy Pampanga, Mauaque Resettlement Elementary School, Department of Education-Mabalacat Division and The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Mabalacat City College (MCC) participated the 2nd International Conference on Lantern and Cultural Studies on 21-23 February 2024 at the University of Assumption in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The conference provided a platform to explore diverse cultural themes, foster cultural awareness, and encourage appreciation for different cultures.
