MCC Participates in ASEAN-EU Indo-Pacific Convergence Forum

Manila — Mabalacat City College joined "Convergence of Interests between the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific and the EU Indo-Pacific Strategy: Prospects for the Philippines” on 25 October 2023 at the Carlos P. Romulo Library, Department of Foreign Affairs. The forum focused on the interplay of interests between the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific and the European Union's Indo-Pacific Strategy, with a particular emphasis on their potential impact on the Philippines.

MCC was represented by Institute of Arts and Sciences faculty members Marcelino Alberto Garcia V and Jhannaine Delaserna, and Assistant Vice President for Linkages and International Affairs Kevin Aaron Peralta. This reflected MCC’s commitment in contributing to global discussions and advancing the Philippines' integration into the ever-evolving Indo-Pacific landscape, specifically in the domains of digital innovation and sustainable development.

The forum, organized by the European Union in collaboration with the Foreign Service Institute provided a platform for scholars, diplomats, and experts to engage in discussions about the evolving dynamics within the Indo-Pacific region and their implications for the Philippines.

Ambassador of the European Union to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) His Excellency Sujiro Seam served as the guest speaker, where he shared his diplomatic experience. Ambassador Seam underscored the European Union's unwavering support for the Philippines, particularly in the areas of the Digital Projects and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also explained the EU's commitment to enhancing digital innovation and promoting sustainable development in the Philippines.
