MCC Welcomes Konan University, Japan

February 26, 2025

Continuing to heighten its education tourism and build international partnership, Mabalacat City College welcomed a delegation from Konan, Japan on 19 February 2025. This aimed to foster an enriching academic and cultural exchange program.

Konan University and MCC presented cultural performances that highlighted the unique traditions of each country, followed by a guided campus tour for the visiting students. They also had a historical tour around the Clark Freeport Zone and Mabalacat City. This was led by MCC AB History students, who provided a deeper understanding of the region’s rich history.

Moreover, Japanese students also visited a facility for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), which offered them a chance to better understand the challenges faced by Filipino youth. This sparked discussions on potential joint projects that could address the needs of such centers.

Director of Language Programs at Konan University, Hirao School of Management Dr. Brent Jones headed the Japanese delegation twice. It can be remembered that Konan University initially visited MCC last February 2023. Also, President of Urdaneta City University Atty. Amihan April Alacazar, Ph.D. joined the tour as a partner institution in the exchange program.

Through this program, MCC and Konan University further solidified their shared commitment to promoting educational and cultural understanding. This also provided an excellent platform for both sets of students to enhance their intercultural and global competencies.
