Bamban and Mabalacat City IPOs recognize MCC Kayantabe as Community Empowerment Arm

 

MCC Kayantabe Manager Ms. Carol Arboleda and Community Development Officer Mr. Aaron Carl Tejano presented the current projects affecting Mabalacat City's indigenous community in a board review with the 44 Matubag of Bamban and Mabalacat City, Pampanga last 25 August 2023 at SDA Building Office, Bamban Tarlac.

 

Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPO) President Mr. Oscar Dizon and Mabalacat City Councilor and Vice President Ms. Ruvielane Margarito led the BOT review. Initiatives discussed included cultural preservation through PROJECT SAYAWIT, education via I-PEACE, and environmental and sustainable livelihood opportunities through the BALAKAT Project. Discussions covered the Indigenous People’s Rights Act of 1997 (IPRA) and hopes for partnerships empowering the indigenous communities in Mabalacat City and Bamban.

 

Board Resolution was drafted following the discussion that is expected to be released this week, allowing MCC to lead the Balakat Project in its adopted community, Sitio Haduan. This also recognized MCC Kayantabe as the Community Empowerment Arm of MCC and IPO. This collaborative activity aimed to uplift Indigenous Peoples in both municipalities and acknowledge their significant contributions to the community.

Mabalacat City College (MCC) Kayantabe attended the Pampanga Bamboo Bootcamp 2023 at Pampanga State Agricultural University on 24 October 2023. 30 November 2023 — Our Lady of Grace Parish (OLGP) and Function Hall overflowed with joy as the community gathered for the "Binyagang Bayan" celebration, themed "Uniting Hearts, Blessing Souls." This special event, meticulously organized by the BSHM 4B Events Class with the guidance of Ma'am Maricar S. Besa, embraced 40 children from underprivileged families in Mabalacat City, welcoming them into the Christian faith through the sacrament of baptism. The event not only marked a religious celebration but also showcased the students’ commitment to uplifting underprivileged community members.

November 15, 2023 — Mabalacat City College Corporate College and Lifelong Learning Coordinator Ms. Mikaela Joy M. Garcia provided an insightful talk, titled "FROM STRESS TO SUCCESS: Empowering Employees through Mental Health," in the Vitabread Food Products Employee Mental Health Awareness Seminar. The seminar was designed to raise awareness on mental health issues, promote help-seeking behaviors, and encourage emotional well-being practices.
