MCC Partners with Local Government Sectors for Community Development

February 13, 2025

Serving the community has always been in the heart of Mabalacat City College, that is why MCC collaborated with Pampanga Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and City Agriculture Office of Mabalacat City in founding the Rural Improvement Club (RIC). RIC is an organization aimed to empower women in indigenous communities within Mabalacat City.

Before marking its full establishment on 12 February 2025, RIC first held its election on 14 January 2025. Under the leadership of Ms. Aida Lapuz, the organization is intended to uplift the lives of farmer families. Through providing a platform for women in indigenous communities, RIC develops their skills to explore new business opportunities.

An orientation was also held during the establishment of the RIC, which aimed to equip members with necessary knowledge and skills to start and sustain their livelihood. Local women expressed their excitement and gratitude for this opportunity. "This initiative gives us hope and a chance to improve our lives," said one member. The indigenous community leaders also lauded the program and highlighted its potential to bring sustainable development and empowerment to their people.

This collaboration of MCC with the local government sectors underscores the importance of educational institutions in supporting community development and empowerment. Also, this served as a testament to the college's unwavering dedication to empowering individuals and shaping the future of the nation through community development.
