MCC BSTM Students Spearhead Sustainable Herb Garden Project

October 23, 2023

Mabalacat City College BS Tourism Management (3A and 3B) students initiated a sustainable herb garden project titled "Agritourism: Cultivating Farm-to-Table Delights" as part of their Agri-Tourism course. This features a delightful array of herbs such as basil, mint, parsley, thyme, dill, and rosemary that are intended to be used by the Hospitality Management students in their cookery and laboratory classes.

The sustainable herb garden project aligns with the institution’s commitment to fostering practical education and enhancing the skills of its students. It consequently impacts the broader community by supporting several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) and SDG 8 (promoting sustainable economic growth and decent work).

Their instructor Mr. Darren T. Molano and the IHTM faculty spearhead the students involved in this initiative. This underscores their commitment to providing students with experiential learning opportunities beyond the classroom. MCC continuously prepares its students for success, inculcating the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their future careers.
