MCC Celebrates Arts Month through "Sibul Ning Kalalangan"

In celebration of the National Commission for Culture and Arts’ (NCCA) National Arts Month, MCC opened its first art exhibition, "Sibul Ning Kalalangan". MCC President Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong together with the Mabalacat City Arts and Culture Council composed of great Kapampangan advocates, Center for Kapampangan Studies Director Mr. Robby Tantingco, Mr. Alex Castro, Architect Ed de Castro, and CDC Media Affairs Manager Mr. Noel Tulabut together with noted Kapampangan Historian, Mr. Francis Musni and other respected guests led the grand launching of the exhibit. Likewise, Mabalacat Artist Mr. Dodjie Aguinaldo led the exhibit that showcased stunning art pieces from eighteen local artists with the likes of Mr. Erwin Dayrit, Mr. Arnel David Garcia, and other prominent artists in the community.

Translated as the “Spring Time For The Arts”, the event symbolized the stepping stone of the local community to gather new interest again in the arts during the New Normal. In an exclusive interview, Mr. Robby Tantingco said “Napakaganda ng nangyari because MCC is hosting a group of artists from all over Pampanga to come here…so it is the school’s show of supports for the artist.” He also mentioned that “In terms of this being held during the pandemic, of course when you showcase the talent, the artistry of the artist then you are showing everyone what the human spirit is capable of achieving”. In addition, Mr. Francis Musni stated that the event showed Mabalacat City Colleges’ appreciation and value of the culture in Mabalacat presented in the form of arts. He added that “Culture is a mirror to people”. He further urged the community to foster and continue a program that cultivates the culture and values of people.

“Mabalacat City College is an open home for all the great artist that desires to help in spreading the Arts and Culture in Mabalacat City. Please consider Mabalacat City Collge as your Bale Ning Kalalangan”, said  Dr. Ong in her speech as she expressed her warmest welcome and gratitude to all the respected guests and local artists who attended the event. She assured all local artists can utilize MCC as their hub in showcasing their masterpieces.

The "Sibul Ning Kalalangan" also highlighted the importance of promoting the culture, heritage, and arts to students. Together with different industry partners, MCC visions to cater to the community's needs by providing such events in the future.

30 November 2023 — Our Lady of Grace Parish (OLGP) and Function Hall overflowed with joy as the community gathered for the "Binyagang Bayan" celebration, themed "Uniting Hearts, Blessing Souls." This special event, meticulously organized by the BSHM 4B Events Class with the guidance of Ma'am Maricar S. Besa, embraced 40 children from underprivileged families in Mabalacat City, welcoming them into the Christian faith through the sacrament of baptism. The event not only marked a religious celebration but also showcased the students’ commitment to uplifting underprivileged community members.

November 15, 2023 — Mabalacat City College Corporate College and Lifelong Learning Coordinator Ms. Mikaela Joy M. Garcia provided an insightful talk, titled "FROM STRESS TO SUCCESS: Empowering Employees through Mental Health," in the Vitabread Food Products Employee Mental Health Awareness Seminar. The seminar was designed to raise awareness on mental health issues, promote help-seeking behaviors, and encourage emotional well-being practices.
